자동차용 후방시계 확대형 룸미러
제1도는 종래 룸미러에 의한 후방시계 관측범위를 개략적으로 도시한 차량의 평면도.

본 고안은 자동차용 후방시계 확대형 룸미러(ROOM MIRROR)에 관한 것으로, 후방관측 사각지대가 제거되며, 룸미러를 보면서 후방관측이 가능한 자동차용 후방시계 확대형 룸미러에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로, 자동차의 실내에는 제1도에 도시된 바와 같이 운전자의 후방시계를 확보하기 위해 운전석 중앙 상부에 룸미러(10)가 장착되어 있고, 도어 측단에는 사이드미러(12)가 설치되어 있는 바, 상기 룸미러(10)를 보면서 양측 사이드미러(12)를 이용하여 후방을 관측하게 된다.
이때, 이러한 룸미러(10)와 사이드미러(12)에 의한 후방시계 확보는 제한된 범위(A, B 및 C)에 한하게 되는 바, 이는 초보 운전자에게만 해당되는 문제가 아닐 것이다. 따라서 후방 관측 사각지대(E와 F)가 존재하게 되어 안전사고의 발생가능성이 있으며, 또한 상기 범위의 시계를 동시에 확보한다는 것은 실제적으로 불가능한 일이어서, 안전운행이란 측면에서, 보다 확대된 후방시계 확보다 절실히 요청되고 있다. 물론 근래 보조미러가 개발되어 유통되고 있으나 그 경우 거리판단상의 곤란함이 있고 대부분 차량의 양측면부에 설치토록 하는 구조여서 일시적으로 전방 관측을 소홀히 하게 된다는 문제점이 있었다.
본 고안은 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위한 것으로, 상기 룸미러의 좌우 상부측에 각각 보조미러를 회동가능토록 결합함으로써, 후방관측 사각지대가 제거되며 룸미러를 보면서 거의 동시에 후방관측이 가능하게 되어 안전운행이 확보되도록 한 새로운 형태의 자동차용 후방시계 확대형 룸미러를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다.
본 고안은 제2도 및 제3도에 도시한 바와 같이, 주거울(21)과, 차량 실내의 앞좌석 중앙 상부에 설치되며 상기 주거울(21)이 장착되는 룸미러 하우징(22)으로 구성되는 자동차용 룸미러(20)에 있어서, 상기 룸미러(20)의 좌우 상부측에 각각 보조미러(24)를 회동 가능토록 결합하여 된 특징을 갖는다.
이와 같은 본 고안에서, 상기 보조미러(24)는 보조미러 하우징(25) 후면에 상하방향으로 힌지축(27)을 돌설한 후 상기 룸미러 하우징(22) 좌우 상부에 형성한 힌지 지지대(28)의 힌지공(28A)에 힌지 결합하되, 상기 힌지축(27)은 보조미러 하우징(25) 후면 중앙에 폭방향으로 돌출 성형할 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 탈착이 용이하도록 상기 힌지축(27) 하부에 탄성틈새(27A)를 형성하는 바, 그 외주연에 걸림돌기(27B)를 형성하여 상기 힌지축이 상기 힌지공(28A) 내에서 안착될 수 있도록 함이 바람직할 것이다.
이러한 본 고안에 따른 보조미러는 좌우 회동만이 가능한 구조이더라도 룸미러 장체가 전후좌우로 회동 가능하므로 실제 기능은 더욱 확장할 수 있을 것이다. 즉 후방의 상하좌우 관측이 가능하게 되는 것이다.
이와 같은 본 고안을 적용하면, 후방관측 사각지대가 제거될 수 있고 룸미러를 보면서 거의 동시에 후방을 관측할 수 있어 안전운행이 확보되는 효과가 있으며 또한, 종래의 룸미러만을 사용코자 할 때에도 탈착이 용이하고 전형 외관을 해치지 않게 된다.

  1. 주거울(21)과, 차량 실내의 앞좌석 중앙 상부에 설치되며 상기 주거울(21)이 장착되는 룸미러 하우징(22)으로 구성되는 자동차용 룸미러(20)에 있어서, 상기 룸미러(20)의 좌우 상부측에 각각 보조미러(24)를 회동 가능토록 결합하여 된 것을 특징으로 하는 자동차용 후방시계 확대형 룸미러.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 보조미러(24)는 보조미러 하우징(25) 후면에 상하방향으로 힌지축(27)을 돌설한 후 상기 룸미러 하우징(22) 좌우 상부에 형성한 힌지 지지대(28)의 힌지공(28A)에 힌지 결합하여 된 것을 특징으로 하는 자동차용 후방시계 확대형 룸미러.
