Description

박하향 방향성 흡착제를 함유하는 담배 필터 제조방법
본 발명은 박하향을 내는 담배 필터에 관계되는 것이다.
박하향을 내는 담배인 속칭 박하 담배는 각초에 박하유를 분무하여 제조하였고 담배 필터에서 박하향기가 나도록 한 박하 담배는 현재까지 알려지지 않았다. 종래의 박하 담배가 갖고 있는 문제점은 박하 향료를 담배 각초에만 처리하였으므로 담배 제조 및 보관중에 박하향이 휘산 소실되고 또한 끽연시 연소실에 의하여 박하 성분중의 일부가 열분해 또는 열합성 되어 새로운 성분이 생성되므로 요구하는 맛과 향을 얻을 수 없었다. 특히 필터 부착 담배에 있어서 필터에 흡착제가 포함된 경우에는 끽연시 흡착제가 담배 연기중에 있는 박하향을 흡착하므로 담배 제조시에 계획한 박하향이 끽연시에 달라지게 되는 문제점도 나타나게 된다.
또한 미국 특허 제4,889,114호에는 가향제를 폴리사카라이드로된 가향제 밀봉입자에 밀봉시켜 내장시킨 담배 필터가 공개되었다. 이 발명에 따르면 가향제는 밀봉입자내에 밀동되게 되있으며 흡연시 밀봉입자가 파괴되면서 가향제가 발산되게 되었다. 이러한 발명은 가향제가 밀봉된 밀봉입자의 제조에 고도의 기술이 필요하게 된다.
본 발명자들은 박하 담배에서 박하향이 일정하게 유지되도록 하기 위하여 연구한 결과 박하 향료를 필터에 사용되는 흡착제에 흡착시켜 필터에 내장시키므로서 전술한 종래 박하 담배의 문제점을 해결됨을 알게되었다.
박하향을 흡착제에 흡착시키기 위하여는 박하향료를 용매에 용해시키고 생성된 박하 용액을 흡착제에 분무하거나 또는 박하 용액에 흡착제를 침지하는 방법이 있는바, 전술한 방법중 박하 용액을 흡착제에 분무하는 방법은 용액이 흡착제의 미세기공 내부까지 침투하지 못하여 박하향이 쉽게 휘발 제거되는 문제점이 있고 박하용액에 흡착제를 침지하는 방법은 박하 용액이 다량으로 필요하고 또한 흡착제를 침지한후 다량의 박하용액이 남게 되는 문제점이 있다. 특히 전술한 박하 용액을 이용한 침지 방법에 따르면 박하 용액이 처리된 첨가제를 건조시켜 재활성하는 추가공정이 필요할 뿐 아니라 저비점 휘발성 향기성분의 특성인 시원한 맛을 유지하기 어렵다.
본 발명의 목적은 박하 향료가 흡착제의 미세기공 내부까지 침투하여 박하향이 쉽게 휘발 제거되지 아니하면서 흡연시 시원한 맛의 박하향이 지속적으로 방출되는 흡착제를 함유하는 필터를 제공하기 위한 것이다.
전술한 본 발명의 목적은 필터 제조시 유해 물질 제거제로 사용되는 흡착제에 박하 향료를 증발시켜 기체 상태로 흡착시키고 박하향이 흡착된 흡착제를 통상의 섬유 필터와 결합시켜 담배필터를 제조하므로서 달성된다.
본 발명에서 사용되는 흡착제는 미세기공을 갖는 천연 광물질이나 합성물질들이 사용되는바, 이러한 물질들로는 담배 필터에 유해물질 흡착제로 사용되는 활성탄, 일라이트(Illite) 및 미이샤움(Meerschaum), 세피올라이트(Sepiolite), 사문석등의 규산 마그네슘광물 같은 천연 광물질과 합성 물질들이 있는바, 이들은 6-60Å의 미세기공이 잘 발달되어 있어서 본 발명에 사용하기 적당하다. 이러한 물질 중에서도 미세 기공이 잘 발달된 규산 마그네슘이 본 발명의 흡착제로 가장 바람직하다.
본 발명에 의한 박하향료 흡착 방법의 일예를 구체적으로 설명하면 다음과 같다. 결정상 박하를 30℃이상의 온도로 가열하여 승화시키면서 휘산되는 박하 증기를 흡착제에 흡착시키는 것이다. 이러한 방법에서는 결정상 박하를 100메슈 이하로 분쇄하고 15-100메슈의 흡착제와 1 : 100-15 : 100의 중량비로 홉합한 다음 반응용기에 넣고 30-80℃의 온도로 5분이상 유지시켜 박하증기가 휘산되면서 흡착제에 흡착되도록 할 수 있고, 흡착제가 적층된 하방에서 박하향료나 결정상 박하를 승화온도 이상으로 가열하여 휘발되는 박하증기가 흡착제에 흡착되도록 할 수도 있다.
이와같은 본 발명에 의하면 용제에 용해시켜 흡착제에 흡착시키는 경우보다 박하 향료가 흡착제의 미세기공 내부에 까지 흡착되므로 보관중 박하향의 휘산이 적게되고 끽연시에만 흡인력에 의하여 서서히 방출되게 되므로 시원한 맛의 박하향이 일정하게 흡인되게 되고 또한 끽연시 박하 향료가 고온의 연소열에 직접 닿지 아니하므로 박하성분의 열분해가 없게 되어 제조시에 요구하는 대로의 박하향이 항상 일정하게 발산되게 되는 이점이 있다.
이하 본 발명을 실시예에 의하여 상세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
실시예 1
결정상 박하를 80-100메슈로 되게 분쇄하고 분해된 박하 1g을 30메슈의 사문석 100g과 혼합한 다음 밀폐된 반응용기에서 50℃로 5분간 가열한다.
두 섬유 필터사이에 활성탄이 충전된 공지의 "88디럭스"담배의 필터에 있는 활성탄을 제거하고 본 발명의 박하유 침착 활성탄을 충전하여 박하향 방향성 필터를 제조하고 공지의 "88디럭스" 담배에 부착하였다.
본 발명의 담배와 대조용 담배를 공지의 흡연 측정기로 8차에 걸쳐 끽연 시험하고 2차, 4차, 6차, 8차, 끽연시의 연기 성분중에 함유된 박하 이행량, 연기 응축물 이해량, 이해 비율을 측정하고 그 결과를 표 1에 기재한다.

결정상 박하 10g이 들어있는 가열용기에 철망을 설치하고 철망위에 20메슈의 세피올라이트 1㎏을 올려놓은 다음 35℃에서 2시간 동안 가열하여 박하향이 세피올라이트에 침투되게 한다. 제조된 세피올라이트를 사용하여 실시예 1의 방법으로 필터를 제조한다.

Claims (2)

  1. 무기광물질로 된 유해물질 흡착제에 박하향료를 흡착시키고 섬유질 필터와 결합시켜 담배필터를 제조하는 방법에서, 박하향 흡착 공정이 결정상 박하를 30080℃ 가열하여 박하향이 증발되어 승화되면서 흡착제에 흡착 되도록 하는 공정으로 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  2. 청구범위 2항에서, 흡착제가 활성탄, 일라이트, 규산 마그네슘광물 중에서 선택된 것임을 특징으로 하는 방법.
