본 발명은 생리대, 특히 양측면에서 안쪽으로 아아치형을 이루는 양측면을 갖는 생리대에 관한 것이다.
생리대를 사용하는 데에는 두가지 중요한 난점이 있다. 이 중의 한가지는 누출이다. 대부분의 경우에, 누출은 흡수층이 포화되었기 때문이 아니고, 유체가 외피를 통해서 흡수 매트릭스로 침투하기 전에 다공성 생리혈 투과성 외피의 표면으로부터 유체가 흐르기 때문에 일어난다. 이와 같은 현상은 유체 자체의 성질과 같은 다양한 요인에 의해서 일어날 수 있다. 월경은 대단히 불결하며,다른 성분들도 있으나 그들중 대부분을 차지하는 셀룰로오즈성물질 및 점액성 물질을 함유하는 복합유체이다. 이 점액성물질 및 셀룰로오즈성물질들은 모두 외피의 표면 모세관에 수집되어 보다 많은 수용성 성분이 흡수층 중으로 통과하는 것을 방해한다.
월경액 통과시(時)의 난점은, 부직포와 연합제조 공정시에 일어날 수 있는 모세관의 불규칙적인 크기 및 모양, 그리고 비어있는 모세관의 면적에 의하여 커진다. 이 유체는 외피의 표면에 달라붙어 차폐시키거나, 흘러내린 유체의 통과를 방해한다. 이와 같은 이유로 인해서 유체는 표면을 따라서 양측면으로 퍼져나감으로써, 생리대의 양쪽 끝부분에 있는 흡수층이 아직 젖지 않았음에도 불구하고 생리대를 파손시키는 경향이 있다. 가장 최근에 밝혀진 다른 단점은 외피의 적심에 관한 것이다. 끈이 없는 생리대는 단단히 고정하는 하의에 부착시키도록 설계하였기 때문에 부직포 외피재의 표면은 회음부와 직접부착되며, 따라서 착용자들은 이 단단히 고정하는 하의를 사용하여야 한다. 이 부직포 외피재는 본래 비흡수성이기 때문에 유체의 통과가 적절히 일어난다고 하더라도, 흘러내린 유체로 인하여 표면으로부터 축축한 느낌을 받는다.
양측면에서 안쪽으로 아아치형을 이루는 생리대를 제공함으로써 회음부에 보다큰 표면 접촉부분을 제공함과 동시에 끝이 없는 생리대의 안정성을 증대시키기 위한 여러가지 시도가 행해져 왔다. 이 생리대들은 회음부에 인접한 넓적다리의 모양에 부합되기 때문에 착용자가 움직을 경우에 뒤틀림이 적어지며, 이론적으로 흘러내린 유체가 흡수재 중으로 보다 잘 통과하게 되며, 회음부와 외피 사이에 보다 우수한 표면을 공유하도록 한다.
기저귀와 같은 생리용 의복의 또다른 형태에서, 일반적으로 착용자의 가랑이와 생리용 의복은 밀접하게 접촉되지는 않는다. 물론, 기저귀는 매우 다른 형태이다. 기저귀는, 이들이 유체통과성 부직포 외피, 흡수재 및 생리혈 방수막을 함유하고 있다고 하더라도, 다리와 허리를 완전히 에워싸는 하의가 되도록 설계된다. 양측면에서의 누출은, 봉함효과를 제공하기 위하여 다리 주위에 탄력성을 완벽하게 부여함으로써 기저귀에서 방지된다. 미합중국 특허 제4,326,528호는 횡단면에 아아치가 있고 격납주머니를 갖도록 설계한 기저귀에 대해서 설명하고 있다. 미합중국 특허 제4,226,238호는, 탄력있는 중앙부분을 갖도록 설계한 다소 복잡한 기저귀에 관하여 설명하고 있다. 미합중국 특허 제 3,371, 668호는 일정한 구조를 갖도록 하기 위하여 탄성을 이용한 생리대를 설명하고 있다. 의복에 다리 개봉부분 주위를 에워싸는 수단을 제공하도록 설계되지 않은 생리대는 이와 같은 형태의 봉함효과를 얻기 불가능하다. 1983년 3월 17일자 출원한 유럽 특허출원 제83850068.4호는 가장자리를 탄성처리한 생리대에 관하여 설명하고 있는데, 이 탄성효과는 생리대의 형태, 돌출되어 올라온 중심부와 측면의 플랩에 의한 것이다.
본 발명은 대표적인 성분, 즉 생리혈 방수막, 싱리혈 투과성 외피, 그리고 바닥과의 사이에 컵 모양의 형태를 갖는 흡수재 부분, 즉 컵 모양을 가지며 한 가운데 부분이 착용자의 회음부에 대응하는 생리대에 관한 것이다.
본 발명은, 양측면에서 안쪽으로 아아치형을 이루는 생리대를 제조하여 생리혈 투과성 외피를 최소한 양측면부에 있는 생리혈 방수막에 직접 부착시키고, 외피를 방수막에 부착시키는 봉함선의 외부인 양측면 각각에 탄성을 제공하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 탄성이 완화되면, 생리대에 힘이 가해져서 컵의 가운데 부분을 이루는 생리대의 중심부를 갖는 컵 모양의 형태를 이룬다. 이 컵의 바닥이 회음부가 대응하면, 착용자가 서있거나 누워있을 경우에 회음부와 외피 사이의 직접적인 접촉 가능성이 작아진다. 이 생리대의 형태로 인하여 중심부분은 유체가 생리대를 통과하기 위한 추가의 시간을 보유하는 저수지의 역할을 한다. 양측면에 탄성이 있고, 유체를 받는 중심부분이 양측면보다 낮기 때문에 양측면에서의 누출은 일어나지 않을 것이다.
또한, 착용자의 신체와 외피의 표면과의 접촉을 줄이기 때문에 밀접한 접촉으로인한 불쾌한 습한 느낌을 받지 않는다.
본 발명을 도면을 통하여 보다 용이하게 이해할 수 있다.
제1도에서, 본발명의 생리대(10)은 양측면의 안쪽으로 형성된 아아치(17a,17b)가 있다. 외피(11)는 생리대의 바깥쪽 가장자리로부터 안쪽으로 향하여 봉함선(12)에 의하여 봉함시킨다. 이 봉함은 접착수단 또는 연속적인 또는 불연속적인 초음파 띠를 이용하여 형성한다. 탄성부재(13)은 봉함선(12)의 바깥쪽을 향해서 생리대의 세로방향의 양측면 가장자리의 대략 중심부분에 가한다.
이 생리대는, 펼쳐진 상태에서 탄성을 가하여 접착수단을 부착시킬 경우에는 원래 평면이다. 이 탄성부재(13)은, 이완된 위치로 돌아갈 경우에, 생리대의 윗쪽 끝 부분들 및 생리대 안쪽의 측면들이 서로 잡아당기기 때문에 생리대의 평면 구조가 파괴된다. 이 파괴로 인하여 컵과 같은 형태(14)가 형성된다.
탄성을 가하는 특히 적합한 한 방법은 둘출시킬 수 있는 탄성부재를 처음에 유체상태로 가한 다음에 냉각시킴으로써 부착시키면 탄성부재가 되는 탄성부재를 이용하여 행한다. 이와 같이 함으로써 양측면에 탄성부재를 접착제로 부착시키는 다단계를 생략할 수 있다. 이와 같은 생성 물의 예는, 미네소타주 상 파울에 소재하는 에치.비.플러(H.B.fuller)회사에 허여된 미합중국 특허 제4,259,220호에서 설명하고 있다.
이 생리대의 일반적인 구조를 제2도를 통해서 보다 손쉽게 설명하자면, 이생리대에서 방수막(15)는 컵의 외부 표면을 제공하며, 컵(14)의 바닥과 내부 표면인 외피(11)은 작은 주름으로서 나타냈다. 이 도면에는 방수막(15)의 중심부를 따라서 주름(16)이 있고, 외피(11)의 중심부분의 가장자리를 따라서 존재하는 대응하는 주름(18)도 나타냈다. 주름(16),(14) 및 (18)의 세기는 탄성부재(13)의 탄성과 아울러 탄성체의 넓이 및 길이, 흡수층(이 도면에는 제시하지 않았음)과 생리대 전체의 강도에 의존한다. 제3도에 나타낸 바와 같이, 생리대가 놓여있는 생리대의 가장자리의 외면에 의하여 형성된 각도 30o-90이므로 이 인자들은 평형을 유지한다. 이각도 30o이하일 경우에 이 냅킨의 잇점은 사라지며 각도 90o보다 큰 경우에는 사용하는 동안에 생리대의 적절한 구조를 유지하기가 어렵다.
안정성을 위해서는 탄성부재의 폭이 1/16-5/16인치(보통의 경우에는 3/16인치가 적합함)로 조정할 필요가 있다.
탄성부재의 폭이 5/16인치 이상일 경우에는 찰상을 일으키며 착용자에게 불쾌감을 주는 경향이 있다. 이 탄성부재는 가장 자리로부터 최소한 1/16인치 안쪽에 배치하는 것이 좋다.
자체 접착성 탄성부재를 사용하지 않을 경우에, 봉함 효과가 연속적일 필요가 없다고 하더라도 생리대의 가장자리에 또다른 봉함 폐색기기를 제공할 필요가 있다. 이 제2의 봉함을 제공해야 하는 이유는, 찰상을 일으킬 수도 있는 방수막과 외피의 가장자리가 노출되는 것을 방지하기 위함이다. 탄성부재는 생리대의 측면 가장자리 길이의 10-30%에 해당하도록 조절해야 하며, 물론 이것은 탄성도, 생리대의 강도 및 유연성, 그리고 상기한 다른 인자들에 따라서 변할 수 있다.
봉함선에 또는 봉함선보다 다소 안쪽으로 생리대를 배치시킬 경우에 본 발명에 몇가지 잇점을 준다고 하더라도 최초의 봉함선 밖에 탄성부재를 배치한 것이 가장 좋은 구조라는 것이 밝혀졌다.

Claims (6)

  1. 생리혈 방수막(15), 생리혈 투과성 외피(11) 및 이 사이에 내재시킨 흡수층으로 되고, 안쪽으로 아아치형의 측면을 갖는 신장된 생리대에 있어서, 상기 방수막과 외피를 봉함부 밖의 측면에서 중심부에 배치시킨 탄성부재로 상기 아아치형 측부에서 봉함시키고, 상기 탄성부재를 컵모양 윤곽으로 형성시키고, 이 컵의 최저부분을 상기 탄성부재가 이완상태에 있을 때에 착용자의 회음부분에 일치되도록 형성시킴을 특징으로 한 생리대.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 탄성부재를 측면 길이의 10-30%로 신장시킨 생리대.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 측면으로 본 생리대의 방수막의 측부의 바깥부분에 접힌 선분과 생리대의 저부를 따라 돌출한 평면이 형성하는 각이 30o-90o사이인 생리대.
  4. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 탄성부재의 폭이 1/16-5/16인치인 생리대.
  5. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 탄성부재를 측면 층으로부터 최소한 1/16인치 이상 삽입시킨 생리대.
  6. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 탄성부재를 방출된 유동성 유체로서 사용한 생리대.
