Claims (19)
- 복수개의 고상 발광 장치들을 포함하는 백라이트 유닛을 포함하는 디스플레이의 제어방법으로서,
상기 디스플레이의 타겟 색상 점(target color point)을 수신하는 단계;
상기 디스플레이와 연관된 온도를 측정하는 단계;
상기 측정된 온도에 응답하여 보상된 타겟 색상 점을 생성하는 단계; 및
상기 보상된 색상 점을 생산하도록 상기 백라이트 유닛의 색상 점을 설정하는 단계를 포함하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 백라이트 유닛의 상기 색상 점을 설정하는 단계는,
상기 복수개의 고상 조명 장치들 중 적어도 하나에 인가된 펄스 폭 변조된(pulse width modulated) 전류 드라이브 신호의 펄스 폭을 변화시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 타켓 색상 점은 2차원의 색상 공간 내 x-좌표 및 y-좌표를 포함하고,
상기 보상된 타겟 생상 점을 생성하는 단계는, 변환 식(transformation equation)을 사용하여 상기 타겟 색상 점의 상기 x-좌표를 변환하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 3 항에 있어서,
상기 변환 식은, 선형 변환 계수를 포함하는 선형 변환 식을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 3 항에 있어서,
상기 변환 식은 제 1 변환 식을 포함하고,
상기 보상된 타겟 색상 점을 생성하는 단계는, 제 2 변환 식을 사용하여 상기 타겟 색상 점의 상기 y-좌표를 변환하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 3 항에 있어서,
상기 선형 변환 계수는 제 1 선형 변환 계수를 포함하고,
상기 제 2 변환 식은, 제 2 선형 변환 계수를 포함하는 선형 변환 식을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 보상된 타겟 색상 점을 생성하는 단계는, 상기 측정된 온도와 조정 온도간의 차이에 응답하여 상기 보상된 타겟 생상 점을 생성하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 백라이트 유닛의 상기 색상 점을 상기 보상된 타겟 색상 점으로 설정하는 단계는, 상기 백라이트 유닛 내 복수개의 고상 조명 장치들 중 적어도 하나에 인가된 펄스 폭 변조 신호를 조절하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 제어방법. - 고상 백라이트 유닛을 포함하는 디스플레이의 조정 방법으로서,
상기 디스플레이의 온도를 제 1 온도 레벨로 설정하는 단계;
상기 고상 백라이트 유닛으로부터 광을 생성하는 단계;
상기 제 1 온도 레벨에서 상기 디스플레이에 의한 광 출력의 제 1 색상 점을 측정하는 단계;
상기 디스플레이의 온도를 상기 제 1 온도 레벨과 다른 제 2 온도 레벨로 설정하는 단계;
상기 고상 백라이트 유닛으로부터 광을 생성하는 단계;
상기 제 2 온도 레벨에서 상기 디스플레이에 의한 광 출력의 제 2 색상 점을 측정하는 단계;
상기 제 1 색상 점, 상기 제 2 색상 점, 및 상기 제 1 온도와 상기 제 2 온도간의 온도 차이에 응답하여 변환 계수를 생성하는 단계; 및
상기 변환 계수를 상기 디스플레이 내에 저장하는 단계를 포함하는 디스플레이의 조정 방법. - 제 10 항에 있어서,
상기 변환 계수를 생성하는 단계는 선형 식을 얻기 위해 선형 곡선 피팅(linear curve fitting)을 수행하는 단계를 포함하고,
상기 변환 계수는 상기 선형 식의 기울기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 조정 방법. - 제 10 항에 있어서,
상기 제 1 색상 점을 측정하는 단계는 외부 색도계(colorimeter)를 사용하여 상기 제 1 색상 점을 측정하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이의 조정 방법. - 디스플레이로서,
고상 백라이트 유닛; 및
상기 고상 백라이트 유닛과 연결된 피드백 컨트롤 시스템을 포함하고,
상기 피드백 컨트롤 시스템은, 상기 디스플레이에 대한 타겟 색상 점을 수신하고, 상기 디스플레이와 연관된 온도를 측정하며, 상기 측정된 온도에 응답하여 보상된 타겟 색상 점을 생성하고, 상기 보상된 타겟 색상 점을 생산하도록 상기 백라이트 유닛의 색상 점을 설정하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이. - 제 13 항에 있어서,
상기 컨트롤 시스템은,
컨트롤러;
상기 컨트롤러와 연결되고, 상기 백라이트 유닛의 광 출력을 측정하도록 구성된 광센서; 및
상기 컨트롤러와 연결되고, 상기 컨트롤러로부터의 명령 신호에 응답하여 상기 백라이트 유닛 내 고상 조명 부재로 펄스 폭 변조된 전류 드라이브 신호를 제공하도록 구성된 전류 드라이버를 포함하고,
상기 컨트롤러는, 상기 고상 백라이트 유닛 내 적어도 하나의 고상 발광 장치에 인가된 펄스 폭 변조 신호를 제어하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이. - 제 13 항에 있어서,
상기 타겟 색상 점은 2차원의 색상 공간에 대한 x-좌표 및 y-좌표를 포함하고,
상기 컨트롤 시스템은, 상기 보상된 색상 점을 얻기 위해 변환 식을 사용하여 상기 타겟 색상 점의 상기 x-좌표를 변환하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 디스플레이. - 제 15 항에 있어서,
