Abstract
Description
Claims (24)
- 제1 절연 기판;상기 제1 절연 기판 상에 서로 이격되어 형성된 돌기 패턴;상기 돌기 패턴 상에 형성되고 상기 돌기 패턴 사이에 절개부가 형성된 화소 전극;상기 화소 전극 상에 형성되며 상기 돌기 패턴의 상면과 중첩되는 차광 패턴;상기 제1 절연 기판과 대향하는 제2 절연 기판; 및상기 제1 절연 기판 및 상기 제2 절연 기판 사이에 개재된 액정층을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 액정층은 전기장의 비인가시에 광학적 등방성을 유지하고, 전기장의 인가시에 광학적 이방성을 유지하며, 인가되는 전기장의 강도에 따라 굴절률이 변화하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 액정층은 블루상(blue phase) 액정 분자를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 액정층은 액정 분자와 모노머가 중합되어 형성된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 절개부는 상기 차광 패턴을 마스크로 패터닝된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 차광 패턴은 상기 돌기 패턴의 상부 보다 넓게 형성된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 화소 전극은 상기 돌기 패턴의 상부에 형성된 상면, 및 상기 돌기 패턴의 측부에 형성된 측면을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 측면은 경사지게 형성된 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 돌기 패턴은 높이가 3㎛ 이상인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 절개부는 폭이 3㎛ 이하인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 돌기 패턴은 일방향으로 나란히 형성된 액정 표시 장치.
- 절연 기판 상에 서로 이격된 돌기 패턴을 형성하는 단계;상기 돌기 패턴 상에 형성되고 상기 돌기 패턴 사이에 절개부가 형성된 화소 전극을 형성하는 단계; 및상기 화소 전극 상에 형성되며 상기 돌기 패턴의 상면과 중첩되는 차광 패턴을 형성하는 단계를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 돌기 패턴을 형성하는 단계는 상기 절연 기판 상에 돌기 형성용 유기 절연막을 형성하고, 상기 유기 절연막을 패터닝하는 것을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 차광 패턴을 형성하는 단계는 상기 유기 절연막 상에 차광 패턴용 금속층을 형성하고 상기 차광 패턴용 금속층을 패터닝하여 형성하는 것을 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 유기 절연막과 차광 패턴용 금속층 사이에 제1 투명 전극층을 더 형성하며, 상기 제1 투명 전극층은 상기 차광 패턴용 금속층과 함께 패터닝되는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 차광 패턴은 상기 돌기 패턴의 상부 보다 넓게 형성되는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 돌기 패턴을 큐어링하는 단계를 더 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 돌기 패턴을 큐어링하는 단계는 상기 돌기 패턴의 하부를 상부보다 두껍게 형성하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 화소 전극은 형성하는 단계는 상기 돌기 패턴 및 상기 차광 패턴 상에 제2 투명 전극층을 형성하고,상기 제2 투명 전극층을 패터닝하여 형성하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 차광 패턴을 식각 마스크로 이방성 식각을 하여 상기 절개부를 형성하는 단계를 더 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제20항에 있어서,상기 이방성 식각은 건식 식각인 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서상기 액정 표시 장치는 상기 제1 절연 기판과 대향하는 제2 절연기판; 및상기 제1 절연 기판 및 상기 제2 절연 기판 사이에 개재된 액정층을 더 포함하되,상기 액정층은 전기장의 비인가시에 광학적 등방성을 유지하고, 전기장의 인가시에 광학적 이방성을 유지하며, 인가되는 전기장의 강도에 따라 굴절률이 변화하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서,상기 액정층은 블루상(blue phase) 액정 분자를 포함하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서,상기 액정층은 액정 분자와 모노머가 중합되어 형성된 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
