- 생물학적 병원체 확인장치와,적어도 하나의 감시 장소에서 에어로졸화된 생물학적 병원체 입자들의 에어로졸 샘플을 모으기 위한 수집장치와,상기 에어로졸 샘플의 액체 샘플을 생성하기 위한 에어로졸 농축장치와,상기 액체 샘플의 일부를 카트리지형 리셉터클(receptacle)에 저장 및 이송하기 위한 자동 유동장치와,상기 리셉터클을 다단(staging) 영역으로부터 상기 유동장치의 액체 충전 지점으로 이송한 다음 생물학적 병원체 확인장치로 이송하기 위한 자동 기계 취급 시스템과,상기 시스템을 전체적으로 자동 제어하고 상기 적어도 하나의 감시장소에서 상기 장치들을 제어하며 상기 확인장치에 의해 마련된 테스트 결과를 미리 정해진 장소로 보고하기 위한 제어장치를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 수집장치는 입자 샘플들을 계속 수집하도록 동작하며, 상기 이송용 시스템은 리셉터클을 다단영역으로부터 상기 유동장치의 액체 충전 지점으로 이송한 다음 생물학적 병원체 확인장치로 주기적으로 이송하도록 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 유동장치는 상기 리셉터클이 상기 생물학적 병원체 확인장치로 이송되기 전에 상기 액체 샘플의 일부를 상기 리셉터클로 주기적으로 이송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 수집장치는 상기 감시 장소의 수집 지점에 위치한 슈라우드/후드(shroud/hood)를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 슈라우드/후드는 메일 처리 장비의 메일 이송통로를 따라 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.

- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 유동장치는 샘플을 하나 이상의 분석을 위해 액세스될 수 있는 저장기에 일시적으로 홀딩할 수 있는 반면, 상기 에어로졸 농축장치는 다음 샘플을 수집하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 유동장치는 상기 액체 샘플의 나머지 일부를 추가적으로 보관하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 기계 취급 시스템은 상기 카트리지형 리셉터클을 픽업 및 이송하기 위한 그리퍼형 말단 작동체를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 10 항에 있어서,상기 다단 영역은 다수개의 카트리지형 리셉터클을 홀딩하기 위한 저장 랙을 구비하며, 상기 말단 작동체는 상기 저장 랙 위에 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,상기 저장 랙은 직선적으로 배치된 상기 카트리지형 리셉터클들을 홀딩하는 신장된 랙이며, 상기 말단 작동체는 상기 저장 랙 위의 신장된 트랙상에 위치하여 두개의 대각 방향으로 이동하여 한번에 하나의 리셉터클을 포착하여 유동장치 및 생물학적 병원체 확인장치로 이송 및 복원시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 유동장치 및 상기 확인장치는 단지 두개의 이동축이 상기 말단 작동체에 필요하도록 상기 저장 랙과 정렬되는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 말단 작동체는 상기 제어장치의 일부를 형성하는 머신 컨트롤러에 의해 제어되는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 14 항에 있어서,상기 머신 컨트롤러는 상기 유동장치의 자동 동작과 상기 생물학적 병원체 확인장치의 일부를 형성하는 삽입/추출 카트리지 메카니즘을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 생물학적 병원체 확인장치는 풀리메라아제 연쇄 반응 (PCR) 생물학적 병원체 확인부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 16 항에 있어서,상기 확인장치는 타겟 생물학적 병원체의 단일 유전자 순서에 대한 검정을 포함하는 적어도 하나의 스크리닝 카트리지와 내부 제어부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 16 항에 있어서,상기 확인장치는 자동 카트리지 교환부를 포함하는 단일 베이 유닛(bay unit)을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제어장치는 상기 생물학적 병원체 확인장치, 에어로졸 농축장치, 유동장치 및 기계 취급 장치에 접속되어 그들의 동작을 제어하기 위한 국부 머신 제어 컴퓨터를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 19 항에 있어서,상기 제어장치는 상기 머신 제어 컴퓨터에 접속되어 상기 머신 제어 컴퓨터를 제어함과 아울러 상기 미리 정해진 장소에 상기 테스트 결과를 통신하기 위한 원격 사이트 명령 및 제어 컴퓨터를 추가로 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 20 항에 있어서,상기 사이트 명령 및 제어 컴퓨터는 강배선 링크를 거쳐 상기 머신 제어 컴퓨터에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 20 항에 있어서,상기 사이트 명령 및 제어 컴퓨터는 RF 링크를 거쳐 상기 머신 제어 컴퓨터에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 18 항에 있어서,상기 사이트 명령 및 제어 컴퓨터는 1차 및 백업 제어 컴퓨터를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 에어로졸 농축장치, 유동장치, 기계 취급 시스템 및 생물학적 병원체 확인장치를 하우징하기 위한 캐비넷을 추가로 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 완전 자동 생물학적 병원체 검출시스템.
- 이송통로를 따라 전달 및 이송될 아이템들에서 생물학적 병원체를 검출하는 방법에 있어서,상기 이송통로의 적어도 하나의 장소에서 상기 아이템들로부터 에어로졸 샘플을 수집하는 단계와,상기 에어로졸 샘플의 액체 샘플을 생성하는 단계와,상기 액체 샘플의 일부를 카트리지형 리셉터클로 전송하는 단계와,상기 리셉터클을 미리 정해진 생물학적 병원체의 입자들에 대한 상기 액체 샘플을 분석하는 생물학적 병원체 확인장치로 기계적으로 이송하는 단계와,상기 확인장치에 의해 제공된 분석 결과를 미리 정해진 장소로 보고하는 단계와,상기 방법의 전체적인 자동 제어를 행하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 25 항에 있어서,상기 아이템들은 메일 아이템을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 25 항에 있어서,상기 에어로졸 샘플 수집 단계는 상기 이송통로를 따라 핀치 지점에서 상기 아이템들을 끼우는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 27 항에 있어서,상기 에어로졸 샘플 수집 단계는 상기 아이템들을 끼우기 위한 장치와 상기 아이템들로부터 끼워진 에어로졸 샘플들을 수집하기 위한 슈라우드/후드의 위치를 설정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 28 항에 있어서,상기 이송단계는 상기 액체 샘플을 포함하는 리셉터클을 상기 생물학적 병원체 확인장치로 주기적으로 이송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 29 항에 있어서,상기 이송단계는 국부 머신 제어기의 제어하에서 상기 카트리지형 리셉터클을 픽업 및 이송하기 위한 그리퍼형 말단 작동체를 가진 기계 취급 시스템을 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 30 항에 있어서,상기 이송단계는 상기 말단 작동체 아래의 랙에 위치한 복수개의 리셉터클들로부터 카트리지형 리셉터클을 주기적으로 픽업하여 이송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
- 제 28 항에 있어서,상기 액체 샘플의 일부를 전송하는 단계는 상기 샘플이 하나 이상의 분석을 위해 액세스될 수 있는 저장기에 상기 샘플을 일시적으로 저장하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생물학적 병원체 검출방법.
