Claims (5)
- 소정 간격으로 대향 배치된 하부기판과 상부기판;상기 하부기판과 상부기판 사이에 개재되며, d/p 비율이 대략 1/4 정도되는 액정과 모노머(monomer)가 혼합되어 채워지면서 UV 조사에 의해 폴리머 벽(polymer walls)이 형성되고, λ/2의 위상지연치(d·Δn)를 갖도록 설계된 액정층;상기 하부기판과 상부기판의 각 외측면에 각각 부착되며, 선편광의 빛만을 투과시키는 하부편광판과 상부편광판; 및상기 하부기판과 하부편광판 사이와 상부기판과 상부편광판 사이 각각에 설치된 λ/4의 위상보상판을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 ASM 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 각 λ/4 위상보상판의 축은 상기 하부편광판 및 상부편광판의 투과축 또는 흡수축과 45°를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 ASM 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 상부기판의 내측면 또는 외측면에 설치된 0.01∼0.2의 위상지연치를 갖는 광보상필름을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 ASM 모드 액정표시장치.

- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 원편광 편광판은 콜레스테릭 편광판인 것을 특징으로 하는 ASM 모드 액정표시장치.
