Abstract
Description
도 1은 입자 크기에 대한 음향 방사력, 중력/부력 및 스토크스(stokes)의 항력의 관계를 나타내는 그래프이다. 수평축은 ㎛이고 수직축은 뉴턴(N)이다.
도 2는 워터층(water layer)에 의해 반사 경계층으로부터 분리된 압전 소자(즉, 압전 물질)의 일반적인 구성을 나타낸다.
도 3은 음향 챔버에서 입자의 엉성하게 패킹(packing)된 평면을 생성하도록 평면 정재파를 생성하기 위해 변환기 및 반사기를 이용하는 종래의 접근법을 나타낸다. 반사도, 시스템도, 및 등척도의 3개의 도면이 나타나 있다.

Claims (20)
- 호스트 유체로부터 제2유체 또는 입자를 분리시키는 방법으로서, 상기 방법은:
상기 호스트 유체와 제2유체 또는 입자의 혼합물을 음향 영동 장치를 통해 유동시키는 단계; 및
상기 제2유체 또는 입자가, 정재파에서 연속적으로 포획되고, 이후 덩어리지거나, 결집되거나, 응집되거나, 또는 함께 합체되고, 이어서 부력 또는 중력으로 인해 호스트 유체에서 상승 또는 침강되어, 음향 챔버를 빠져나가도록 상기 음향 챔버에서 다차원 음향 정재파를 생성하는데 기여하도록 강도가 비슷한 각각의 상이한 모드들의 중첩인 변위 프로파일에 기여하는 동일한 크기의 다중 모드를 동시에 여기시키는 주파수에서 적어도 하나의 초음파 변환기를 여기시키는 단계를 포함하며,
상기 음향 영동 장치는:
적어도 하나의 입구 및 적어도 하나의 출구를 갖춘 상기 음향 챔버;
상기 음향 챔버에 결합됨과 더불어, 상기 음향 챔버 내에서 음향파를 생성하기 위해 여기되도록 구성된 압전 물질을 포함하는 상기 적어도 하나의 초음파 변환기; 및
상기 음향 챔버 내에서 다차원의 음향 정재파를 형성하기 위해 상기 음향파를 반사시키기 위한 상기 적어도 하나의 초음파 변환기로부터 상기 음향 챔버의 대향 측 상의 반사기를 포함하는, 호스트 유체로부터 제2유체 또는 입자를 분리시키는 방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 상이한 모드들은 서로 0.005 MHz 내에 피크를 갖는, 호스트 유체로부터 제2유체 또는 입자를 분리시키는 방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 상이한 모드들은 모드 (1, 1); (1, 3); (1, 5); (3, 3); (3, 5); 및 (5, 5) 중 적어도 2개를 포함하는, 호스트 유체로부터 제2유체 또는 입자를 분리시키는 방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
압전 물질은 유동하는 혼합물의 표면에 걸쳐 다수의 최대 및 최소를 갖는 압력 프로파일을 생성하도록 진동하는, 호스트 유체로부터 제2유체 또는 입자를 분리시키는 방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
