Abstract
Description

Claims (17)
- 광원(6) 및 발광 패널(1)을 구비하고, 디스플레이 장치를 조명하는 조명 시스템으로서,-상기 광원(6)은 발광 다이오드를 포함하고,-상기 발광 패널(1)은 전면 벽(2)과, 상기 전면 벽의 반대편에 놓인 후면 벽(3)과, 광-전송 에지 영역(4)을 포함하고,-상기 광-전송 에지 영역(4)은 상기 발광 패널(1)의 상기 전면 벽(2)과 상기 후면 벽(3) 사이에 놓이며,-상기 조명 시스템은 상기 광원(6)으로부터 기원하는(originating) 광을 혼합하기 위한 광-혼합 패널(5)을 포함하고,-상기 광-혼합 패널(5)은 상기 광원(6)으로부터 기원하는 광을 상기 광-혼합 패널(5) 내로 커플링하기 위한 광 입력 에지 영역(7)과, 상기 광-혼합 패널(5) 외부로의 광을 커플링하기 위한 광 출력 에지 영역(8)을 구비하고,-동작 시, 상기 광원(6)으로부터 기원하는 광은 상기 광-혼합 패널(5)의 광 입력 에지 영역(7)에 입사되어, 상기 광-혼합 패널(5)에서 확산되며,-상기 광-혼합 패널(5)과 상기 발광 패널(1) 사이에 놓인 광-전송실이, 상기 광-혼합 패널(5)로부터의 광을 상기 발광 패널(1)로 전송하며,-상기 광-혼합 패널(5)과 상기 발광 패널(1)은 서로 병렬로 확장되도록 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광 전송실은 타원의 형상인, 반사 내벽(10)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,-상기 타원의 제 1 초점(f1)은 상기 광-혼합 패널(5)의 상기 광 출력 에지 영역(8) 내에 또는 그 근방에 놓이고,-상기 타원의 제 2 초점(f2)은 상기 발광 패널(1)의 상기 광-전송 에지 영역(4) 내에 또는 그 근방에 놓이는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 광 전송실의 상기 반사 내벽(10)은 실질적으로 원의 형상이고, 상기 원의 중심은 상기 광-혼합 패널(5)의 상기 광 출력 에지 영역(8)과 상기 발광 패널(1)의 상기 광-전송 에지 영역(4) 사이에 놓이는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광 전송실은 두 개의 광-전송 프리즘(20,20')을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광-전송실은 다면의 반사 내벽(30)을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항, 제 2 항, 제 7 항 또는 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 광원으로부터 기원하는 광을 상기 혼합 패널(5) 내로 커플링하기 위한 광 조준(collimating) 소자가 상기 광원(6)과 상기 광-혼합 패널(5) 사이에 놓이는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항, 제 2 항, 제 7 항 또는 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 광-혼합 패널(5)은 상기 광 입력 에지 영역(7)으로부터 멀어지는 방향으로 좁아지는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항, 제 2 항, 제 7 항 또는 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 광원(6)은 제 1, 제 2 및 제 3 발광 파장을 가지는 세 개의 발광 다이오드(6B,6G,6R)를 포함하며, 상기 광 방출 파장들은 서로 다른 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 11 항에 있어서,상기 광-혼합 패널(5)의 광 입력 에지 영역(7)과 연관되는 상기 광원(6)은 블루, 그린 및 레드 발광 다이오드(6B,6G,6R)의 집합을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항, 제 2 항, 제 7 항 또는 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 광-혼합 패널(5)은, 각각 제 1 및 제 2 광 입력 에지 영역(71,72)과 제 1 및 제 2 광 출력 에지 영역(81,82)을 구비하는 제 1 및 제 2 광-혼합 패널부(51,52)를 포함하고, 상기 각각의 제 1 및 제 2 광-혼합 패널부(51,52)로부터 상기 발광 패널(1)로 광을 전송하기 위한 제 1 및 제 2 광-전송실(91,92)이 상기 각각의 제 1 및 제 2 광 혼합 패널부(51,52)와 상기 발광 패널(1) 사이에 놓이는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 광원(6)은 상기 제 1 및 제 2 광-혼합 패널부에 공통인 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 광원(6)은 상기 각각의 제 1 및 제 2 광 입력 에지 영역(71,72)에 커플링되는 제 1 및 제 2 섹션(61,62)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는조명 시스템.
- 제 1 항, 제 2 항, 제 7 항 또는 제 8 항에 기재된 조명 시스템을 포함하는디스플레이 장치.
- 제 16 항에 있어서,상기 디스플레이 장치는 액정 디스플레이(liquid crystal display)(12)를 포함하는디스플레이 장치.
