Abstract

PURPOSE:To expand the range of application of an optical disc memory remarkably by arranging an optical fiber among a light flux converging means, a light source and a light detecting means, moving the optical spot through the moving of the light converging means and the optical fiber only to attain ease of high- speed accessing. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 13 is used to lead light from a light source 7 to an objective lens 2 as a light converging means and to lead a reflected light from the objective lens 2 to a photodetector 5. The optical fiber 13 is formed by bundling plural fibers and made of a polarized plane preserving fiber. Through the above-mentioned constitution, since the optical fiber is flexible, it is possible to move the objective lens 2 independently of other optical system, that is, a lambda/4 plate 3, a polarized beam splitter 4, the photodetector 5, a collimator lens 6 and the light source 7. That is, only the objective lens device 14 including the objective lens moving mechanism and the objective lens in the track and focus direction has only to be moved radially.

Examples of conventional optical pickup devices are shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. In FIG. 1, 1 is an optical disk, 2 is an objective lens as a light focusing means, 6 is an A wavelength plate, 4 is a polarizing beam splitter, 5 is a photodetector, 6 is a collimator lens, and 7 is a semiconductor as a light source. Lasers 8 and 9 are objective lens moving mechanisms for moving the light spot in the focusing and tracking directions. Next, this operation will be briefly explained. First, the light emitted from the semiconductor laser 7 is linearly polarized light, which is turned into parallel light by the collimator lens. The light then passes through the polarizing beam sinter 4 and is incident on the A wavelength plate 3 . A
The light passing through the wavelength plate 3 is converted into circularly polarized light, focused by the objective lens 2, and irradiated onto the optical disc 1. The light reflected from the information recording surface of the disk becomes circularly polarized light in the opposite direction and passes through the objective lens and A wavelength plate again. Then,
The reflected light that has passed through the 14-wavelength plate becomes orthogonally polarized light whose polarization axis differs by 90 degrees from the light emitted from the semiconductor laser 7, is reflected by the polarized beam splinter 4, and enters the photodetector 5.

This photodetector 5 is usually a 7-hi photodiode divided into 4 or 6 parts, and by processing the output signals from each photodetector, it is possible to simultaneously obtain a recording signal, a focusing error signal, and 9 tracking error signals. can. Then, in accordance with the output of the focus error signal and the tracking error signal, one control word is applied to the objective lens moving mechanisms 8 and 9, and the light spot is controlled so as to always focus on the information track. Figure 2 is an example of a radial movement mechanism, where 1o is the fc original big amplifier shown in Figure 1, and 11
1 is a radial feed motor, and 12 is a disk rotation motor. In order to read the recorded signal on the optical disc 1, it is necessary to move the optical pickup 10 in the radial direction of the disc 10. Conventionally, the entire optical pickup was moved in the radial direction by a radial feed motor 11. . However, moving the entire optical pink amplifier means that the weight of the driven object increases, which is a major obstacle to high-speed access.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide an optical pink amplifier device that eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks and allows high-speed access.

以下図面とともに本発明の説明をしていく。The present invention will be explained below with reference to the drawings.

In FIG. 3, 1 to 9 are the same as the example in FIG. 1, and 15 is an optical fiber. The movement is basically the first
Although it is the same as the example shown in the figure, the original fiber 13 is used to guide the light from the light source 7 to the objective lens 2 as a light focusing means, and further guide the reflected light from the objective lens 2 to the photodetector 5. It is something.

Here, the optical fiber 16 is a bundle of a plurality of fibers, and is further composed of a polarization-maintaining fiber. Since the optical fiber is flexible, the objective lens 2 can be connected to other optical systems, such as the shield plate 6, the polarizing beam splitter 4, the photodetector 5, the collimator lens 6, and the light source 7. It can be moved independently. Therefore, the radial movement mechanism using the big amplifier device shown in FIG. 6 is as shown in FIG. 4.

That is, it is sufficient to move only the objective lens device 14 including the objective lens moving mechanism and the objective lens in the track and focus directions in the radial direction. Then, the other optical system 16id is fixed and optically connected to the objective lens by the fiber 16. This') noyo radial movement - Mugi 4. By making it possible to move the driven object in the radial direction, the displacement of the driven object is greatly reduced, and the rare high-speed access is possible for the first purpose of Nara. This makes it possible to realize an optical pickup device that is the only one in town.

'Also, Figure 6. In the example shown in FIG. 44, the objective lens device includes a focus shift mechanism 8, a track drive mechanism 9, and an objective lens 2, but the function of the trunk 1 drive mechanism can also be included in the radial movement mechanism. In that case, the objective lens device is comprised of the focus driver I#8 and the objective lens 2, and the radially moving driven object can be further reduced in weight and size.
