However, bedding made from zeolite is insoluble in water, so it is practically impossible to dispose of it in a flush toilet after use, and pelleted alfalfa does not absorb water after use. It immediately loses its shape and becomes a slurry, which has the disadvantage of adhering to the animal's feet and contaminating the surrounding area. Furthermore, products made from water-soluble or water-dispersible paper have the disadvantage of requiring a large amount of energy for drying, since the paper dispersed in water is dehydrated and molded before drying.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned drawbacks of conventional animal excreta bedding materials, and it has been devised to provide an animal excrement bedding material that does not require dehydration during production and does not have the above-mentioned drawbacks during use. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing excretory bedding.

In the bedding material according to the present invention, the absorption rate and absorption rate of excrement (urine) are affected by its specific gravity (when the specific gravity is small, both the absorption rate and the absorption rate improve, but as the specific gravity increases, The specific gravity can be controlled by adjusting the amount of water added within the above range (30 to 40% by weight) and the amount of the thickening material added. Control of the specific gravity of the bedding material is best determined by whether or not the bedding material will be in contact with the animal's feet during use.If the bedding material is used in direct contact with the animal's feet, the control of the excrement Even if the absorption rate or absorption rate decreases, the specific gravity is increased to prevent the bedding material from adhering to the feet and scattering. On the other hand, when the bedding material does not come into direct contact with the feet, the specific gravity is decreased to prevent excrement from being scattered. to increase the absorption rate and absorption rate.

In other words, to decrease the specific gravity of the bedding material, it is better to increase the amount of water added, while to increase the specific gravity, it is better to decrease the amount of water added, but if the amount of water added is less than 30% by weight, the molding after drying will be difficult. As the specific gravity of the material becomes 0.4 or more, the above-mentioned absorption rate and absorption rate as a bedding material are significantly inferior, and the properties of bedding materials made from papery materials are not only impaired, but also
During extrusion molding, clogging occurs in the die, making continuous molding difficult.

On the other hand, if the amount of water added exceeds 40% by weight, the specific gravity of the molded product after drying will be less than 0.2, making the bedding material more likely to be scattered by animal feet during use, and in addition, drying after molding. This requires a large amount of energy, which is disadvantageous in terms of production costs.

The mixture to which water is added is extruded into a fixed particle shape using a pellet mill, but it is also preferable to use a pellet mill that extrudes the mixture from a die using rolls for continuous molding.

Conventionally, various methods are known for extrusion molding, but for example, with screw extrusion, even if the amount of water or glue added to the paper material is changed, the paper material cannot be continuously formed from the goo in a fixed shape. It is difficult to extrude the mold, and the molding machine itself becomes hot due to frictional heat in the die, causing problems such as burning.

Pellet mills that extrude the molded product from a die using rolls include pellet mills (also called pelleters in the latter) that have a cylindrical die or a disc-shaped die, which are used for forming feed and fertilizer. However, in the present invention, these pellet mills can also be used for extrusion molding.

As described above, according to the present invention, animal excrement bedding material is continuously and efficiently produced using paper material as a raw material without requiring dehydration treatment and without contaminating the surrounding area during use. There are possible advantages.
