Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent low temperature offset from being generated by heating a heating means at a side with a low detecting temperature selectively when a detecting temperature is less than a heating present temperature. CONSTITUTION:Temperature detection is performed by a first temperature detecting means 35 by heating mainly the center part in an axial direction of the upper fixing roller 1 of a pair of fixing rollers 1 and 2 by a first heating means 26, and it is performed by a second temperature detecting means 36 by heating both end parts in the axial direction by a second heating means 31. And when the detecting temperatures in a copying operation by a signal to start the copying operation and detected at every constant time interval are set less than the heating preset temperatures in the copying operation by the first and second heating means 26 and 31, the detecting temperatures are compared with each other, and the heating means 26 or 31 at the side with the low detecting temperature is heated selectively. In such a way, it is possible to prevent picture quality due to the generation of nonuniformity in the glossiness of an image to be fixed from being lowered and to prevent the low temperature offset at a low temperature part from being generated.
