Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly and correctly input the displayed information and to maintain secrecy of the displayed information by comprising a display means for displaying the information, and a control means for converting the information into bar code information to be displayed on the display means. CONSTITUTION: A contact part 11 to be connected with an IC card reading and writing device, a keyboard part 12, and a display part 13 formed by a liquid crystal display element which can display the characters and bar codes, are mounted on a surface of an IC card 10. When the IC card 10 is used as a credit card, the bar code displayed on the display part 13 is read out by the bar code reader, so that a transaction confirmation number can be rapidly and correctly read and input, and when the IC card 10 is used as an electronic bankbook, an account number is displayed on the display part 13 with the bar code. Accordingly the content of the display cannot be understood easily by a third person even in a state that the account number is displayed on the display part 13, so that the secrecy can be effectively maintained.
