Abstract

PURPOSE:To generate the focusing force of a charged electron beam passing through a vacuum duct and make a magnet small-sized by arranging the superconductive upper and lower coils constituting a saddle type dipole deflecting magnet so that their center axes cross each other at the preset angle and applying an inclination to the generated magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:Superconductive upper coils 7A, 7B are wound on the upper half of a core J, and superconductive lower coils 8A, 8B are wound on the lower half. Coil end faces 7a, 8a and 7b, 8b facing each other are separated along the core J by the length L, the center axes of the coils 7, 8 are matched with the center axis of the core J as shown by arrows 7P, 8P. The coil 7 is rotated in the arrow X direction along the core J by L/2 and the coil 8 is rotated in the arrow Y direction by L/2 respectively under this condition, the coil end faces 7b, 8b are brought into contact with each other, center axes of the coils 7, 8 are crossed each other as shown by 7P' end 8P'. An inclination is thereby applied to the magnetic field facing in the lateral direction in the beam passing region S.
