該ピニオンと歯合するラック歯を有するラック棒と該ケ
ーシング内にあって該ラック棒を摺動支持するプランジ
ャーと該プランジヤニをラック棒側へ押圧するスプリン
グとからなるラックピニオン式ステアリング装置におい
て、該ラック棒を摺動支持するプランジャーはラック棒
と摺擦する摺動面及びピニオンケーシングと摺動すル外
周面を形成しｉ方の開口する筒状体の合成樹脂もしくは
合成樹脂を主要材料とする摺動部材と、摺動部材のラッ
ク棒と摺擦する摺動面及びピニオンケーシングと摺動す
る外周面と間隔をおいて摺動部材内側に配した筒状の合
成樹脂もしくはガラス繊維強化合成樹脂を材料とする補
強部材とを一体成形してなるラックピニオン式ステアリ
