DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Original Field of the Invention] The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing the presence or absence of an abnormality in an input signal of a control device based on changes in the input signal due to changes in the input signal level and load impedance.

An example of water level control with a standby system as shown in FIG. 1 will be explained. The tank water level is detected by transmitter A1 and transmitter B2, respectively. In response to this water level signal, control device A3 and control device B4 operate control valve A5 and control valve B6, respectively, to control the tank water level to a specified water level. Transmitter A1
The tank water level measurement range of transmitter B2 is different from the tank water level measurement range of transmitter B2. Further, the water level setting values of the control device A3 and the control device B4 are different. In other words, if control device A3 is unable to control the water level and the water level rises, control device B, which is a standby control system,
4 starts operation and controls the water level to a specified value. If transmitter A1 and transmitter B1 malfunction, the control device will malfunction and the water level cannot be maintained at the specified value, so the output signal of the transmitter will be outside the normal signal range.
That is, there is a method of detecting that the upper limit or lower limit has been reached and holding the output of the control device to suppress fluctuations in the water level. However, with this method, the upper limit for transmitter A1 and the lower limit for transmitter B2 cannot be determined to be abnormal in the transmitter. Furthermore, if the output signal of the transmitter is within the specified range, it cannot be determined whether the signal is normal or not.

Similarly, the transmitter B1 is determined to be abnormal when its output signal reaches the upper limit, and when the lower limit is reached and the output of the transmitter A1 is a% or more.

The output signal circuit of the transmitter 1 is provided with a resistor 4 and a test switch 3 that bypasses the resistor 4. Normally, the test switch 3 is closed and the resistor 4 is bypassed. The diagnosis method will be described below. When the test switch 3 is opened, the load impedance of the transmitter 1 increases momentarily, but if the transmitter 1 is normal, its output signal will operate to the value before the test switch 3 was opened. However, if abnormal, the output signal will decrease due to the increased load impedance. Based on this phenomenon, abnormality diagnosis of the transmitter 1 can be performed.
