Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the amount of a lubricant with which a coating film is impregnated and to improve wear resistance by packing a magnetic disk under vacuum prior to a lubricant coating process and removing the packing material in a lubricant tank. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic disk 1 after washed and dried is packed under a vacuum by using the packing material 2. Then, it is dipped in the lubricant in the lubricant tank and the packing material is removed gently in the tank. Namely, the surfaces of the magnetic disk never contact with air and when the packing material is removed, the lubricant enters into air holes of the magnetic disk surfaces even if the holes are fine. Thus, the same result with the coating of the lubricant under a cacuum is obtained and a magnetic disk which hardly causes heat attraction and has high wear resistance is manufactured.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a magnetic disk, and particularly to a method for applying a lubricant suitable for increasing the amount of lubricant impregnated into a coating film and improving the wear resistance of the coating film.

Conventionally, lubricant has been applied to magnetic disks by dipping the disk into a lubricant tank and pulling it up, or by spraying and then rotating the magnetic disk while rubbing the lubricant into the lubricant using gauze, etc. had been adopted. The former method had the disadvantage that if an attempt was made to increase the amount of coating, a large amount would be deposited on the surface, and a stationary magnetic head would be attracted to the surface of the magnetic disk. Although the trick method is effective in avoiding the above drawbacks, it is difficult to control the coating amount uniformly.

In order to improve the S/N ratio of a magnetic disk, it is necessary to reduce the strength reinforcing agent contained in the coating film. On the other hand, to compensate for this, it is necessary to increase the amount of lubricant applied, but simply applying more lubricant to the coating surface will not
The above-mentioned problem of magnetic head attraction occurs. ms
The surface of the rubber has countless fine pores, and conventional methods cannot contain lubricant into these pores. In order to sufficiently impregnate the lubricant, it is sufficient to apply it in a vacuum state, but this generally requires large equipment and increases cost, making it impractical. Therefore, in the present invention, by first vacuum-packing a magnetic disk, immersing it as it is in a lubricant bath, and then removing the vacuum pack in that state, the same effect as applying the lubricant in a vacuum can be obtained.

以下本発明の実施例を第1図を参照して説明する。Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG.

The magnetic disk 1 is cleaned, dried, packed, and vacuum packed using a packing material 2. Immerse the vacuum packed disc into a lubricant tank and gently remove the packing material inside the tank. In other words, according to the present invention, there is no contact between the magnetic disk surface and the air, and when the padding material is removed, the lubricant can infiltrate into the minute pores on the magnetic disk surface.

According to this embodiment, it is possible to produce a magnetic disk with high wear resistance that is less prone to adsorption.

As is clear from the above description, according to the method of the present invention, it is possible to impregnate the lubricant in an amount 2 to 5 times that of the conventional method, and it has the effect of improving the coating strength of the magnetic disk by 2 to 10 times. Also, compared to the mechanical rubbing method, uneven coating and variations in the amount of coating from disk to disk can be reduced.
