Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. having excellent mechanical strength and moldability, by blending polyvinylidene fluoride with a polycarbonate.
CONSTITUTION: 0.1W30wt% Polyvinylidene fluoride having an MW of 100,000W 1,000,000, obtd. by the radical polymn. of a vinylidene fluoride monomer, is blended with a polycarbonate, e.g., obtd. by reacting 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propane with phosgene, to produce the desired resin compsn. By blending polyvinylidene fluoride, there can be obtd. a resin compsn. which is superior in mechanical strength, particularly Izod impact strength, to the polycarbonate alone. The compsn. gives highly excellent molded articles. For example, the molded articles obtd. by injection molding do not exhibit laminar peeling-off phenomenon.
