Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In an expanded socket part 5 of a socket pipe 1 which is a hollow pipe, a staged part 10 is formed by deforming a portion of the wall of the socket pipe so as to expand inwardly. The inner circumferential surfaces of the socket pipe 1 and a spigot pipe 2 are connected continuously so that the expanded side of the staged part 10 is an abutment staged surface 9 against which the end surface of the spigot pipe 2 abuts, in order to prevent the formation of a gap between the end of the spigot pipe 2 and the inner side of the socket part 5, thereby, the insertion depth of the spigot pipe 2 is accurately regulated.
