Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a tape for pneumatic tire having stretching properties, excellent in vulcanizing and adhesive properties and effectively prevented from cracking and lightening, by coating a stretchable fabric with rubber.
CONSTITUTION: The objective tape which is applied to a splice part of the innermost layer of an unvulcanized pneumatic tire is obtained by coating rubber 2 on the stretchable fabric 1 used as a base material. As the fabric 1, a knitted fabric such as a tricot fabric is used most suitably. It is preferred that the fabric has an elastically recovering property against an elongation of at least 30%. As a rubber composition, SBR or the like is used, which preferably has a Mooney viscosity ML1+2.5 (100°C) of 10W170.
