Abstract
PURPOSE: An acaricide, an agricultural chemical especially effective in controlling acarids living in plants, having excellent effects, e.g., low phytotoxicity and low toxicity to men, beasts, and fishes, comprising a specific β-substituted benzoylacrylic acid ester as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: An acaricide comprising a β-substituted benzoyl-acrylic acid ester shown by the formula (R is 1W6C alkyl; X is halogen and/or 1W6C alkyl; m is 1W5) or its salt as an active ingredient. The compound is blended with a carrier or auxiliary and converted into a form of agent, e.g., a solution, emulsion, wettable powder, granule, powder, etc. for use. The acaricide is especially effectively scattered to prevent previously acarids before their parasitism or in the early stage of their parasitism as early as possible, and the application dose is ≥500ppm as the amount of the active ingredient. The acaricide controls acarids and low phytotoxicity to plants, e.g., chlorosis of chloroblast, chlorosis of nerve, death of growth point, etc.
