Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a better correction of an astigmatism and to obtain a space resolution which is excellent over a wide wavelength zone, by a method wherein a correction lens having a toroidal surface is located in a light collecting position for dispersion light in the proximity of an incident light side. CONSTITUTION:In a Czerny-Turner spectroscope, a correction lens 6 is located in the proximity of an incident light side of an exit slit 5 which is light-collecting position for dispersion light. The correction lens 6 is formed such that at least one surface is formed into a toroidal surface, and a relation of a meridan focus distance fM to a sagittal image focus distance fS is set so that it approximately satisfies the equation of 1/fM-1/fS=-A/{D.(D+A)} against a distance D from the correction lens 6 to either of focal points of the meridian image and the sagittal image, whichever nearer.
