Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to reduce production of noises, to enhance flow regulating effect, and to increase air capacity of a fan, by forming a control plate in the form of a projection on the surface of a fan blade at a particular portion near the tip thereof, and thereby reducing disturbance of flow at the tip portion of the fan blade. CONSTITUTION:A control plate 7 in the form of a projection is formed on the upper surface of a fan blade 4 at a particular portion near the tip thereof. By the function of this control plate 7, air flow along the control plate 7 is directed obliquely upward and air is made to flow along the tip of the blade 4. Resultantly, vortices produced at the tip portion of the blade 4 located about 0.1R (R is the radius of rotation of the fan blade) from the tip and having a tendency of flow from the lower surface to the upper surface of the blade 4 can be weakened and separation of air flow from a shroud 5 can be minimized, so that production of noises can be reduced. Further, since the control plate 7 is disposed at a position where the air flow is deflected, it serves to regulate air flow and to remove disturbance of air flow. Thus, it is enabled to increase the air capacity of the fan.
