Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a mask and to achieve inexpensive, excellent detecting operation by providing a photodetecting elements having a mask slit pattern printed, vapor-depositied, or stuck directly on the array pattern of photodiodes. CONSTITUTION:On the photodetecting element 5 of a photoencoder, photodiodes 10 are formed. On the array pattern of those photodiodes, a transparent synthetic resin film having a printed or vapor-deposited mask slit pattern 13 is stuck.
