Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically and accurately convey cargos in and out, by providing a bar code label reader on the cargo carrier of a crane to read a label attached to the cargo. CONSTITUTION:In a three-dimensional-operation warehouse in which an article is put in or on a box, pallet or tray so that loading or unloading is effected, a bar code label 5 is attached to the box 4 or the like to indicate the address of a shelf on which the article is to be stored. The label 5 is read by a reader provided on the cargo carrier of a stacker crane 1. The memorized information in a read information memory unit 15 is compared with the storage address registered in a storage address memory unit 13. An operation instructing unit 11 judges of operation to run the crane 1 through a crane movement control unit 12. According to this constitution, proper control is enabled even if the workman does not confirm the incoming and outgoing of the aritcles one by one.
