Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize an accurate measurement from outside for the value of the air gap and then ensure the steady characteristics along with enhancement of the quality, by determining the test current for each machine type in the rotary motor and then producing the relation line chart between the air gap and the induced voltage.
CONSTITUTION: Search coil 5 is put at the outer circumference of motor 1 to be measured, and the induced voltage at coil 5 is led into millivoltmeter 6 having a high amplification factor. In this case, leak magnetic flux ϕ increases and decreases in proportion to main magnetic flux ϕ'. When the winding current of stator 2 is made constant, the magnetizing force becomes constant. And magnetic flux ϕ of that moment is adversely proportional to the value of air gap G, thus gap G can be measured accurately. Then the outer diameter of rotor 3 is changed to vary gap G, and the induced voltage caused by magnetic flux ϕ detected by coil 5 is measured when the constant current is flowed. Thus the relation line chart is produced.
