Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl; R2 is aryl).
EXAMPLE: 3-[ 3-(4-Chloro-3-sulfamoylbenzoylthio)-2(S)-methylpropionyl ]-2-phenyl-4(R)-thiazolidinecarboxylic acid.
USE: Remedy for hypertonia: they are low in toxicity and side effects.
PREPARATION: The reaction between a compound of formula II and a reactive derivative of compound of formula III is conducted in the presence of sodium bicarbonate in a solvent such as water or DMF or the reaction of a compound of formula IV with another compound of formula V or its reactive derivative is carried out, when necessary, in the presence of an acid acceptor to give the compound of formula I.
