Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a protective coating with good adhesiveness for a zinc material article and, especially, excellent corrosion resistance by painting an under-coating with an epoxy resin or the like as a main component and a top-coating with an acrylic resin or the like succeedingly on a zinc material article.
CONSTITUTION: A zinc material article of which at least surface layer comprises zinc or an alloy based on zinc is subjected to anticorrosion treatment by a method as described hereinafter. That is, an under-coating with an epoxy resin as a main component and contains a melamine resin and anti-rust pigment dissolved in a solvent is coated on said zinc material article and, thereafter, baked at 140W170°C to obtain an under-coating layer. Subsequently, on said under-coating layer, a top- coating comprising a thermosetting type acrylic resin, melamine resin, an epoxy resin, a coloring pigment and a solvent painted and baked at 150W 185°C and dried thereon. As a result, a zinc material article with excellent durability even in a highly corrosive atmosphere is obtained.
