Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the water resistance, adhesion after resisting water, and freezing and thawing property of a film, by coating a porous inorganic substrate with a specific pretreating agent and then with an inorganic coating material.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A porous substrate, e.g. an asbestos cement slat, is coated with (C) a pretreating agent (primer) comprising (ii) 0.5W20wt% phosphoric and boric acids and/or acetic or formic acid in (i) water and an alcohol solvent and/ or an ether alcohol solvent, and then with (B) an inorganic coating material comprising a silicate, phosphate or colloidal silica as a film-former. The coating weight of (ii) is 1W20g/m2 for the inorganic acid calculated as the solid content or for the organic acid per se.
