Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an offset printing plate, excellent in wear resistance and reproducibility of half-tone dot points, by treating one face of a substrate into a boehmite treated surface of aluminum, transferring ultraviolet-curing ink from an original plate to the substrate by use of an offset printing machine, and then curing and bonding the ink on the substrate through radiation of light.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate is obtained by applying heating treatment to a 90W 99.3% pure aluminum foil or plate having a thickness of about 1W1,000, in the air, oxygen gas or the like, and then applying boehmite treatment to the same in ion exchange liquid, steam or the like, at a temperature of about 60W120°C and for 2 sec to several tens of minutes. Thereafter, an ultraviolet-curing ink, consisting of (a) about 30W80pts.wt. of hardening resin, (b) about 5W50pts.wt. of reactive diluent, (c) about 0.1W30pts.wt. of light sensitizing agent, and (d) less than about 40pts.wt. of pigment, is transferred from the original plate onto the boehmite-treated surface of substrate by use of an offset printing machine and then cured and bonded through radiation of light, whereby a required offset printing plate can be obtained.
