Abstract

PURPOSE: A herbicide that contains a novel diphenyl ether and N-methoxymethyl- 2',6'-diethyl-2-chloroacetoanilide, thus being free from injury to crops at the treatment in the weed-growing period and developing constant effect with a small amount of application.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A diphenyl ether of formula I (R is NHNHR1, a ring compound containing one N atom of formula II; R1 is H, lower alkyl, formula III; n is 2W5; R2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl) and (B) at least one selected from compounds of formula IV, V, and VI are mixed at a A/B ratio of 10/1W1/10, preferably of 3/1W1/3. The harmful weeds during the cultivation of soybean, corn and cotton are controlled in high selectivity. The content of these active components in the herbicidal composition is 40W80% in the wettable dust, 10W50% in the emulsion and 1W5% in the dust as the total of components A and B.
