CONSTITUTION:A hoop of austenite stainless steel is hot rolled, and heat treatment is carried out at low temp. <=1,000 deg.C in place of solution heat treatment prior to cold rolling, or the rolled hoop is mechanically predescaled by shot blast after reducing or avoiding the formation of a Cr-deficient layer just under a scale layer due to solution heat treatment without carrying out heat treatment. It is then pickled in a pickling bath of hydrochloric acid alone, continuously pickled in a bath of nitric acid as required, cold rolled by an ordinary method, and subjected to finish soln. heat treatment.
