Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the effective compound between the character pattern signal and the TV picture signal by memorizing temporarily the character pattern signal into the picture memory and then reading out the pattern signal selectively and according to the TV picture signal field.
CONSTITUTION: The character pattern signal generated based on the code designated from outside is written with the picture analysis into each address of picture RAM14 from video information generator circuit 15. This memorized character pattern signal is then read out selectively and with the address designation according to the field of the TV picture signal. Thus the character pattern signal is inserted in substitute into the output of switch circuit 3 for the period equivalent to the display timing of the character pattern in the TV picture signal. In this way, the composite signal can be obtained between the TV picture signal and the character pattern signal.
