Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heater which can largely shorten the heating time and has a high quality.
CONSTITUTION: A heater body 9 has a heat medium jacket 10 in the outer periphery thereof, and is heated and reatined at high temperature by heat medium or steam. Two-axle gear pump 11 is assembled in a pressure feed chamber 9, and a flared conical rotor 12 formed with respect to the advancing direction of content is assembled in a heating chamber 9b. The inner wall of the chamber 9b is spaced at predetermined interval 18 from the surface 12a of the rotor 12 so that the interval 18 imparts the content passing therethrough by a shearing force produced by the rotation of the rotor 12 in magnitude necessary to abruptly raise the content. Heat medium flown into the jacket 10 from an inlet noszzle 16 is substantially uniformly heating the heater body 9. The content such as polymer to be heated and retained at high temperature is fed by the gear pump 11 in the chamber 9a through the interval 18 between the inner wall of the chamber 9b and the surface 12a of the rotor 12, and heated by the rotation of the rotor 12.
