Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title composition of excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance, comprising a polyolefin, a carbon fiber, and an unsaturated carboxylic acid (anhydride)-added modified polyolefin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprising (A) a polyolefin such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., (B) 3W50 parts by wt., based on 100 parts by wt. of the mixture of the components (A) and (C), of a carbon fiber having an average diameter and an average fiber length of 3W50μ and 0.1W6mm, respectively, which can be manufactured from acrylic, rayon, or cellulose fiber, and (C) pref. and 38W6 parts by wt., based on 62W94 parts by wt. of the component (A), of a modified polyolefin prepared by adding ≥0.01wt% of an unsaturated carboxylic acid (anhydride) such as acrylic acid, maleic acid, cis-4-cyclohexene-1,2- anhydrous dicarboxylic acid, to a polyolefin. The composition can be obtained by kneading the above three components by means of an extruder at 200W250°C.
