Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the strain of the ring form body after the hardening treatment, by heating and cooling the necessary part of the ring form body to be hardening treated being supported by restraining its expanded inside diameter. CONSTITUTION:The ring form body A to be hardened is pressure fitted into the punch 1 possessing outside diameter slightly larger than the inside diameter of the ring form body A, in order to expand by more than 0.20% the inside diameter of the ring form body A and the restrain and support it by clamping action. This assembly is placed on the support table 4 and is rotated while being heated by the induction heating coil 2 for austenitizing the desired part. Then, the assembly is immediately oil quenched, and is taken out of the oil; after that, the ring form body A is disassembled from the punch 1. According to this method, the strain to be generated through the heating and cooling process is prevented, and the product of good accuracy can be obtained.
