Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the inexpensive removal of the unstability of a light source owing to reflected light by inclining the end face of an optical fiber with respect to the optical axis of a lens. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a light source 1 enters an optical fiber 4 through lenses 2, 3 of spherical or aspherical faces. At this time, the end face 5 of the optical fiber 4 is inclined by theta1 with respect to the face perpendicular to the central axis 6. If the laser light source and the fiber are coupled in this way, a greater portion of the light enters the optical fiber 4, but about 4% reflects from the end face 5. This reflected light 8 returns to the place deviated from the light emitting face of the laser light source 1. Hence, the unstability of the light source owing to the reflected light may be eliminated. Here, theta1 is suitably 2 deg.-4 deg.. The similar effect is also obtainable even by using the optical fiber 4 with its end face 5 being made perpendicular to the central axis 6 and incliding said end face 5 with respect to the optical axis 7.
