Abstract

PURPOSE: To control jet exhaust flow on the main wing and improve navigation performance at low speed and cruising, by setting a deflector to exhaust nozzle outlet of a UBS type engine.
CONSTITUTION: A concave 7 is made along the length of a UBS types engine nacelle 5, just in front of a nozzle 6 outlet. A deflector 8 accommodated in the concave 7 is connected smooth with the upper surface of the nacelle 5 during cruising to introduce air flow toward upper face of the main wing, whereas it is shifted, during low speed, to the descending portion 8a by means of a hydraulic cylinder 19 and parallelogramatic link 9 to produce high-lift by expanding the jet backwash A on the main wing and a flap.
