Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a poultice having excellent antiphlogistic and remedying effects, containing hydrous gel of an alginic acid salt.
CONSTITUTION: A poultice having antiphlogistic and remedying effects is prepared by dissolving (A) a compound having antiphlogistic, analgesic activities, e.g. methyl salicylate, camphor, menthol, Turkey red oil, etc., to (B) an aqueous solution of a water-soluble alginic acid salt (e.g. sodium alginate, potassium alginate, etc.) containing a water-insoluble or slightly soluble Ca-compound (e.g. Ca sulfate, Ca nitrate, etc.) as a dispersoid. The content of the soluble arginate in the hydrous gel is pref. 1-20 wt%.
