Abstract

PURPOSE: Title primer composed of a specific monomer bearing vinly groups and solvent is previously coated on transparent plastic base materials to increase the adhesion between the surface of the base material and the coating layer of increased hardness on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: (A) At least one of polymerizable monomers bearing vinyl groups of formula I, II, III and IV (R1 is 1-10c alkyl, glycidyl, cyclohexyl, benzyl, tolyl, aminoalkyl; R2 is ethylene, propylene; R3 is H, alkyl; R4 is lower alkyl; n is 2 or larger integral number), (B) a usualy solvent and, when necessary, a polymerization catalyst are mixed to produce said primer for transparent plastics such as poly(meth)acrylate wherein the weight ratio of component A to component B is 5-30:50-100
