Abstract
PURPOSE: The spinning dope is extruded through annular slits and simultaneously a specific liquid is introduced into the hollow part of the fibers, whereby title fibers with excellent dialysis properties because of their uniform and thin thickness of the wall at the continuous through-hollow part all over the length are produced.
CONSTITUTION: A spinning dope of a rolymer in an organic solvent is sent by gear pump 4 to the inlet 24 of annular nozzle 10 and a core liquid is introduced by gear pump 6 into capillary 22. As the core liquid is used γ-butyrolactone or a liquid containing the same because it is compatible with the spinning dope but does not coagulate acrylonitrile polymers. The yarn including the solvent of the polymer in the hollow part is made to run from the nozzle through a space of prescribed length into coagulation bath 12 fulfilled with water to form the semipermeable membrace on the outside surface. The resulting hollow semipermeable membrane 26 is sufficiently desolvated in water bath 14, then wound up. Thus, hollow fibers used in the purification and recovery of waste liquid in industry or ultrafiltration are produced.
