Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a data transfer efficiently without performing dividing processing, etc., by making it possible to indicate a maximum transfer data length at a data transfer time. CONSTITUTION:A call set request command is transmitted from unit A to unit B. In this case, control bit X is defined as 1, and the maximum data length information L is defined as maximum transfer bit length L1 between units A and B which includes processing part 1 and buffer 2. When receiving this CR/CN packet, unit B discriminates X=1 in processing part 7 and compares maximum transfer bit length L2 between units B and C with maximum data information by a data length comparing means and selects smaller one of them, namely, L2 as maximum data information and trnamits it to unit C as CR/CN. Unit C discriminates X=1 and compares maximum transfer data length L3 of buffer 13 and processing part 14 with L2 in processing part 14; and when L3 is smaller than L2, the maximum data length of the CA/CC packet is converted to L3 and transmitted to unit A.
