面に模様が生じたり、或いは表面に凹凸が生じたりと言
う不都合が生じると言う問題がある。この様に研削後で
も所定の絞り性能が出ないことに付いての原因は本願発
明の完成前においてはあきらかとなっておらず、従っ
て、所定の絞り性能が出るまで慣らし使用して、その上
で、実際の絞り作業に使用しているのが現状である。そ
の為に、金属冷間圧延ライン等の洗浄液の絞り作業を必
須とするラインにおいては、絶えず予備の不織布絞りロ
ールの慣らし使用を計画的に行わなければならず、その
為に発生する経費も馬鹿にならないと言う問題がある。

mから2.5μmの範囲内とし、Rmaxを1から20
μmの範囲内とするには、常法で製造した不織布絞りロ
ールを周速50rpmから200rpmで回転させると

ル表面を所望の範囲内に研磨出来なくなると言う不都合
が生じる。繊維の直径が、6デニールから15デニール
の範囲内であると、研磨の作業性の点でより好ましい。

ては、アクリル系のものや、アルキルベンゼンスルホン

aが2.5μm、Rmaxが20μmの不織布絞りロー

作業における絞り機に装着し、20kg/cm2の加圧
下で絞り作業を行った。絞り作業終了後、金属表面の残
水量を図2に模式的に示した装置を用いて下記要領で測
定したところ、この工程で要求される残水量基準である
0.3g/m2を下回る0.23g/m2と言う極めて満
足すべき絞り作業を行うことが出来た。 1.鉄ロールを周速度100m/分で回転させて、水を
ロールにより舁ぎ上げる。 2.不織布絞りロールを押し付け線圧15kg/cmで
押し付ける。 3.開放側の鉄ロールにろ紙(20mmX60mm)を
約10秒間2kgの力で押し付け、鉄ロール上に残った
水をろ紙に強制吸収させて、ろ紙の重量を測定し、その
増加量を以て残存水量とする。 4.鉄ロールの周速度からロールの通過面積を算出し、
上記3で求めた残存水量から平方メートル当たりの残水
量を算出する。 なお、水洗浄に代えて、切削油による洗浄工程後の絞り
作業において使用したが同様の効果が得られた。ちなみ
に、上記の製造例において使用した未研磨の不織布絞り
ロールと同一ロットを特開昭63−99101号公報に
開示の研削方法により表面を研削したものをそのまま上
記と同じ条件で絞り工程に使用して絞り後の残水量を測
定したところ、1.7g/m2と極めて高く、このまま
では実使用には耐えられないことが判明した。更に、実
際の絞り工程と同一の条件下で約45日慣らし使用した
ところ、初めて本願方法に係る不織布絞りロールとほぼ
同一の残水量である0.25g/m2となった。上記の
結果から明らかなとおり、本願発明に係る不織布絞りロ
ールはいわゆる慣らし使用することなく製造直後から実
際の絞り作業に使用できることが判る。

【発明の効果】 以上説明したように、本発明に係る不
織布絞りロールは、研磨直後の状態でも実際の絞り工程
に使用出来る為に、従来の不織布絞りロールのようにそ
の表面を加工した後に、更に長期間に亘るいわゆる「慣
らし使用」をすることを要しないので、予め予備の不織
布絞りロールを慣らし運転して用意しておくという無駄
をなくすことができる。その点で、慣らし使用を全く必
要としない本願発明に係る不織布絞りロールの場合に
は、不織布絞りロールの使用が不可欠である金属冷間圧
延ライン等の絞り工程を行う各種のユーザーにとって
は、本願発明に係る不織布絞りロールを用いることによ
りいわゆる慣らし使用することにより生じる各種の経済
的な負担を削減できると言う効果が得られる。また、本
発明に係るいわゆる慣らし使用を要しない不織布絞りロ
ールの製造方法によれば、計画的におよび/または長時
間を要することなく不織布絞りロールを研磨することが
出来るので、直ちに絞り工程に使用できる予備の不織布
絞りロールがない状態で、万が一使用中の不織布絞りロ
ールに不測の事態が発生しても長期間に亘り絞り工程を
中止しなければならないと言う不都合を解消できるとい
う効果もある。更に、本願発明に係る不織布絞りロール
を金冷間圧延ラインにおける洗浄液の絞り作業に使用す
ることにより、所望の表面状態を有する金属条を製造出
来るという効果が得られる。
