(57) [Summary] Even if blowholes are generated in an ingot, the surface quality of the rough drawn wire can be reduced and the surface quality of the rough drawn wire manufactured from the ingot can be improved. An improvement method and apparatus are provided. The surface of the ingot near the upper layer where many blow holes are present is cut at the stage before rolling of the ingot, thereby reducing the surface damage of the rough drawn wire obtained by hot rolling the surface. By doing so, defects in the ingot can be significantly reduced, and the surface quality of the rough drawn wire obtained by hot rolling the ingot can be improved. A milling machine was installed above the exit of the horizontal continuous casting machine in order to remove the blowhole existing portion in the ingot, which causes the deterioration of the surface quality of the rough drawn wire.

Description of the Related Art As a method for producing a rough wire through a melting, casting and rolling process for a metal used as a conductive material such as copper or aluminum, a continuous casting and rolling method is used in view of productivity, yield and product quality. Production is being actively carried out. In recent years, most of the materials for processing copper and copper alloys in particular have been manufactured by a continuous casting and rolling method.

For example, in the case of copper, in the present equipment, the electrolytic copper plate 8 is melted in the shaft furnace 1, and the resulting molten copper 9 passes through the holding furnace 2 and is sent from the nozzle 4 to the tundish 5 via the casting gutter 3. The molten copper 9 thus fed is continuously poured into a horizontal twin-belt type casting machine 6, and the copper ingot 10 sent out from the casting machine 6 is hot-worked by rolling rolls 7. Thus, a rough copper wire 12 having a predetermined diameter is obtained.

For example, in the case of a rough drawn wire having many scratches on the surface, the defect causes breakage during cold drawing, and it is difficult to obtain a desired product, or a unit weight during drawing process. There is a concern that the number of disconnections per contact will increase. As a result, production efficiency will decrease and product costs will increase.

It is necessary to reduce defects such as surface scratches of the rough drawn wire 12 and to improve the surface quality. Although there are many factors that affect the surface quality of the rough drawn wire 12, the blowhole in the ingot 10 closes a large weight. This blow hole is a horizontal (horizontal) type of conch rod type
In the ingot 10 manufactured by the casting machine 6, as shown in FIG. 3, the ingot mainly exists in the vicinity of the upper layer, and this extends in the longitudinal direction in the rolling step by the rolling roll 6,
This causes a surface defect of the rough drawn line 12. Therefore, investigation of the cause of the generation of the blowhole 13 and investigation of a method for preventing the blowhole 13 have been actively conducted.

As described above, in order to improve the surface quality of the rough drawn wire 12 manufactured by the conti-rod type continuous continuous casting and rolling equipment,
Although it is desired to prevent the blowholes 13 in the ingot 10, it is extremely difficult to completely prevent the blowholes 13 according to the related art, and a method for improving the surface quality which has been established yet. The fact is that it has not been proposed.

In the production of the steel sheet, the portion where the main blowhole 13 in the ingot 10 is present, which causes the surface defect of the rough drawn wire 12, is cut and removed by the milling machine 14, so that the surface quality is reduced. Excellent manufacturing of the rough drawn wire 12 can be realized. As a result, in the cold drawing process of the rough drawn wire 12 manufactured by the present continuous casting and rolling equipment, troubles such as disconnection due to surface scratches can be significantly reduced, thereby improving product production efficiency and reducing costs. It becomes possible to plan.
