Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a root canal-filling material composition consisting of a specific calcium phosphate powder, water soluble organic acid, water soluble polyhydric alcohol and X ray contrast medium, having excellent affinity with organism and low decay ratio of cured product and capable of attaining both purposes of treatment of vegetative tissue and closing of root canal. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition obtained by blending (A) powder of alpha-type tricalcium phosphate and/or tetracalcium phosphate having a composition similar to main ingredient of bone or tooth, (B) water soluble organic acid, e.g. homopolymer of citric acid, malonic acid, malic acid, maleic acid or acrylic acid or copolymer of acrylic acid and itaconic acid, (C) water soluble polyhydric alcohol, e.g. glycerin, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol and (D) X-ray contrast medium, e.g. barium sulfate, preferably at a ratio of 30 to 50wt.% ingredient A, 6 to 15wt.% ingredient B, 20 to 30wt.% ingredient C and 15 to 25wt.% ingredient D based on total weight of paste.
