Conventionally, the base material used for the floors of houses or the inner walls of vehicles has been, for example, plate-shaped materials made by bonding together natural short fibers formed by unraveling jute bags, etc., or these natural short fibers. A plate-like body formed by entangling each other with a needle punch or other means is used.

Therefore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, this invention consists of short fibers made of synthetic resin with a low melting point, short fibers made of synthetic resin with a high melting point and pretreated with antibacterial and deodorizing treatment, and short fibers made of flame-retardant synthetic resin. By forming a cotton band with the fibers, melting the low melting point synthetic resin short fibers, and applying needle punching to entangle and bind the high melting point synthetic resin short fibers with each other, it prevents the generation of mold, etc. The aim is to improve fire resistance and cushioning properties.

The short fibers 3 are made of polyester synthetic cotton whose melting point is set at, for example, about 100°C to 130°C, and each melting point is set at, for example, about 200°C to 270°C and is treated with antibacterial and deodorizing treatment in advance. It consists of a cotton body 9 in which staple fibers 5 made of polyester-based synthetic cotton and short fibers 7 made of flame-retardant acrylic synthetic cotton are well entangled with each other. As shown in FIG. 2, the cotton body 9 is heated in a heating chamber 11 by blowing hot air at about 140°C to 170°C to melt the short fibers 3 having a low melting point, and then heated onto a heating roll 13.
A predetermined pressure is applied to form a cotton band in which high melting point short fibers 5 and 7 are entangled and welded together.

This plate-like cotton strip is then needle-punched to form a base material.

It is preferable to set the ratio to about 6, but if the ratio of low melting point short fibers 3 is set higher than the above ratio, the base material will be harder as a whole, and on the contrary, if the ratio is set lower than the above ratio, the base material will be stiffer as a whole. It can be made into a soft base material, and if the pressure applied by the hot roll is increased, it can be made into a harder base material as a whole, and if the pressure is weakened, it can be made softer. can.
