Abstract

PURPOSE: To reproducibly obtain a glazed ceramic tile having a tasty gradation pattern, by a new method based on a principle different from those of the conventional methods. CONSTITUTION: This invention consists in molding ceramic pug into a board- shaped product and thereafter forming dents by pressurizing the back surface of the product, followed by applying a glazing agent to the surface of the resultant molded product and calcining them to develop on the surface of the product shallow dents corresponding to the dents of the back surface and to form a nearly smooth surface as a whole by melt flow of the glazing agent.

2. Description of the Related Art As a modification method used for manufacturing a ceramic tile having a pattern on its surface, various methods have been conventionally used. For example, (1) a method of expressing a pattern by applying an original shape of a pattern to the molded body body in advance with unevenness and then glazeing the pattern, and (2) different types so as to finally express the pattern on the surface of the molded body body. Apply multiple glazes individually,
Techniques such as drawing, overprinting, and transfer of pigments, (3) technique of removing a part of the glazed surface to reveal a pattern, (4) controlling the oxidation-reduction atmosphere during firing to remove colored metal oxides in the glaze. A unique method of coloring is adopted.

In the above methods (1) and (2),
Although it is suitable as a method for producing a glazed ceramic tile having a regular pattern, it is not necessarily suitable as a method for producing a glazed ceramic tile having an attractive blur pattern, shade pattern or spot pattern. Also, since the methods (3) and (4) are capable of expressing a tasteful pattern, it is an interesting method for a single-art production, but it is usually difficult to reproduce the same kind of pattern. However, it has a drawback that it is difficult to use as a method for manufacturing architectural ceramic tiles for the purpose of constructing wall surfaces by arranging many ceramic tiles in parallel.

Means for Solving the Problems The gist of the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problems is to form a plurality of depressions when a ceramic green body is formed into a plate shape or after being formed by pressing the back surface thereof. Next, a glaze is applied to the surface of the green body obtained as described above and baked to generate shallow dents on the surface corresponding to the plurality of depressions on the back surface due to partial heat shrinkage accompanying the baking of the green body. At the same time, a method of manufacturing a ceramic tile is characterized in that a substantially smooth surface is formed as a whole by the melt flow of the glaze on the surface.

EXAMPLES The present invention will be described in detail based on examples. 5-15% feldspar, 10 quartzite as ceramic base
2020%, porcelain stone 15-20%, wax stone 15-25%, limestone 3-5%, clay material 25-40% are mixed and pulverized according to a conventional method to form a molding base having a water content of 7-10%. It was created. By using this molding base, press molding to obtain 11 x 11
A plate-shaped molding base having a thickness of 8 cm and a thickness of 6 mm was prepared. Then, four oval-shaped depressions having a size of about 4 × 2.5 cm were formed on the back surface of this molding base by applying an oval-shaped mold so that the depth of each central portion was about 1.5 mm. Then, after drying the molded body, the surface as the first glaze,
A zirconia white glaze melting at about 1100 ° C. was applied, and a transparent glaze containing cobalt blue pigment and melting at about 1050 ° C. was applied thereon as a second glaze. When the thus-obtained glaze-molded base material was fired at 1100 to 1200 ° C, the second glaze was ground with the first glaze being the background, centered around the depressions that occurred corresponding to the depressions on the back surface of the fired product. It was possible to obtain a glazed ceramic tile having a distinctive shade and an extremely attractive blur pattern with transparent cobalt blue as the surface layer.

In the present invention, any material such as ceramic, semi-porcelain, and porcelain can be selected as the ceramic green body. Also, as the molding dimensions,
There is no limitation on the area, and the thickness can be determined appropriately as long as a shallow depression is generated on the surface by firing the glaze.

As the glaze to be used, two kinds of glazes of different kinds were used in the above embodiment, but the glaze is not limited to this, and one kind or plural kinds may be used. The glaze to be used may be either a transparent glaze or an opaque glaze, but the uppermost glaze is preferably a transparent glaze, and a colored transparent glaze is particularly suitable because a delicate pattern appears. Further, as this glaze, it is also preferable to use a recrystallized glaze that crystallizes a special crystal by firing or a kiln-changed glaze whose color tone changes depending on the firing atmosphere.
