管14に沿って、円形その他適宜の断面形状を有する管部
材18が並設され、同管部材18はその上端部を固定の管閉
塞部材又は蓋部材20により閉塞され、かつ下端部を上記
吸気取入管14の下部に接続されている。上記管部材18の
内部に夫々バタフライ弁22及び24が上下に間隔を存して
配設され、これらのバターフライ弁22及び24は夫々アク
チュエータ26及び28によって図示の開放位置又は管部材
18を閉鎖する閉塞位置の何れかに選択的に位置せしめら
れる。図示の実施例では、アクチュエータ26及び28は単
動式のエアシリンダからなり、各エアシリンダは三方電

方のバターフライ弁22とによって中間の有効長L2を有す
るサイドブランチが形成される。更に、コントローラ40
によって三方電磁弁32が付勢されると、圧縮空気源34か
ら同電磁弁32を経てアクチュエータ28に供給されるの
で、バタフライ弁24が図示位置から略90度廻動して管部
材18を閉塞し、この結果、管部材と下方のバターフライ
弁24とによって最短の有効長L3を有するサイドブランチ
が形成される。(なお、この場合上方のバターフライ弁
22は図示の開放位置又は上述した閉塞位置の何れに位置

数を調べておいて、当該周波数に対応するサイドブラン
チの有効長L1,L2,L3を設定し、エンジン36の回転数を
回転数センサ38により検知しながらコントローラ40によ
って三方電磁弁30及び32の作動を制御することにより、
吸気騒音を効果的に低減し、従ってキャブ10のこもり音
