メントをパイプや継手で接続して千鳥状に配列したりH
形に配列したりしたものなど種々の公知の形状のものを
用い得る。また、給気管と散気エレメントとの接続部分
の形状は、図示したT字形に限らない。たとえばコ字形
に曲がった形状とし、曲り部の向きを変えられるように
しておくと、曲り部の向きを変えることによって散気エ
レメントを支持体の座板部が固定された処理槽の側壁面
から遠ざけたり近付けたりすることができる。また、給
気管の下端に左右一対のアーム部を有する継手を接続
し、そのアーム部を左右一対の支持体の支持部に支持さ
せると共に、その継手に散気エレメントを接続してもよ

支持されるため、処理槽に汚水などの処理水(処理液)
が貯留されて支持体が見えにくいような場合でも、確実
に上記接続部分を支持体に支持させることができるとい
う効果がある。その上、支持体が処理槽の側壁面に設置
されるために槽底コーナー部の傾斜面の水平幅に相当す
る寸法よりも散気エレメントを処理槽の側壁面に近付け
て設置したり、接触板や処理槽の側壁面との関係で散気
エレメントの設置位置を前後に調節することができるよ
うになり、そうすることによって散気エレメントと上記
側壁面との間隔を狭めてその間での処理水の無駄な対流
を抑制して曝気効果を向上させたり、処理水の対流域を
効果的に調節することが可能になる。また、散気エレメ
ントの横振れが抑制されて支持体による上記接続部分の
支持状態が安定し、そのことが上述の曝気効果を一層向
上させることに役立つと同時に、給気管にそれほど強度
が要求されなくなって安価な樹脂管を用い得るようにな
