Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a platy body having a hologram patten on a surface by a method where a film or sheet having a hologram relief pattern is thermocompression bonded to the platy body by pressure. CONSTITUTION:A hologram relief parttern 2 is formed on a synthetic resin film or sheet 1 such as a polyester or the like. It can be formed by embossing fabrication with a roller of an embossing machine. The film or sheet 1 is made to abut against a surface 4 of a platy body 3 and thermocompession bonded thereto with a hot plate 5 or a hot roll. The platy body 3 is composed of a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as acrylic resin, vinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, etc. Its thickness is preferably at least about 1mm. Further, through either of transparency or translucency may satisfy, a surface on which the hologram relief pattern is formed, is preferably smooth without any irregularity.

Usually, this hologram film is produced as follows. First, wrap a metal shim with a hologram relief pattern around the roll of the embossing device,
Embossing is performed by thermocompression bonding to a synthetic resin film such as polyester, and the hologram relief pattern is transferred. A metal such as aluminum is further vapor-deposited on this pattern surface, and finally an overcoat layer is provided.

However, when a metal shim as described above is used, it is difficult to emboss a plate-like body having a thickness of 2 mm or more, even if the film or sheet can be embossed. In particular, it is impossible for a plate-like body having many irregularities.

Therefore, it is conceivable that a hologram film or sheet on the market is formed by vacuum forming or pressure forming to form irregularities, but fine cracks are generated in the metal vapor deposition film on the surface and whitening occurs, resulting in loss of metallic luster. I will end up.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, in the present invention, a synthetic resin film or sheet having a hologram relief pattern is thermocompression-bonded to a thermoplastic synthetic resin plate with its pattern surface abutting. After that, the film or sheet was peeled off, the plate-shaped body was vacuum- or pressure-molded, and metal vapor deposition was applied thereto.

The molded product 3a thus obtained is subjected to metal vapor deposition in a usual process to form a metal vapor deposited film 8 as shown in FIG. The metal to be vapor-deposited may be any metal that can be vapor-deposited, such as aluminum, copper, or silver. It is also possible to apply metal vapor deposition to the back surface, that is, to the surface without the hologram relief pattern.
